Electrically powered, self-drive, day boat from Horning on the Norfolk Broads

Day Boats

From our base in Horning we offer a range of self-drive day boats for hire. All are electrically powered and considerably quieter in operation than diesel engined alternatives.

Almost exclusively on the broads, we provide a comfortable sized boat suitable for wheelchair users. Customers with accessibility and mobility needs can be lowered into the boat using the on-board electric lift.

Hire Terms

  • Day 9:30am - 4:30pm @ £130

  • Half Day 9am - 1pm @ £80

  • Half Day 1pm - 5pm @ £95

  • (late return charge of £20 + 50p per minute)

  • Car parking is FREE

Quick Facts

  • Boats seat up to 10 persons (max 980kg combined weight)

  • Range is 7hrs or more - a full day cruising

  • Open top boat with roll-back canvas for sun shade, or showers

  • Rain canopy on a pull-up frame at rear of boat

Need to know…

  • Payment by cash, bank transfer, or via email link for credit/debit cards using your phone

  • Buoyancy aids are provided and recommended (toddler to adult sizes)

  • Safety briefing and boat operation is demonstrated prior to your cruise

Important - Wheelchair Capability

  • Capability for light-framed self propelled wheelchairs (borrow one from us by prior arrangement)

  • Maximum weight of occupant and wheelchair is 16stone (100kg)

  • Wheelchair load needs to fit inside 1000 x 700cm platform area.

  • Battery powered wheelchairs cannot be accommodated

  • Advanced booking of the unique wheelchair service is required

Beware Sat-Nav and Google Maps directions may take you to the WRONG side of the river - and a 20 minute detour to correct. Find us on the NORTH side of the river travelling through Hoveton or Ludham to NR12 8PA (and then on to NR12 8PS). There is NOT a road crossing from south to north side of the river in Horning.

Find us just before the marina area of Horning by following Lower Street (past the shops), turning right into Ferry Road. We are on the right hand side, halfway towards The Ferry Pub. Please ask us where to park.
